United Nations Map Of The World

"The map is a wonderful compilation of information and design, as well as being an advocate for the UN ethos. The world is mapped in outline with major cities named and is surrounded by the coats of arms of the UN member states. Vignette views at either side of the map illustrate endeavours such as industry, travel, trade, communicatioin, education, politics and other numerous elements of society. These are accompanied by textual notes of discoveries and other activities on the map itself, as well as quotes from playwrights such as Shakespeare, poets such as Burns, philosophers and other figures of importance. The map also includes the text of the Atlantic Charter on which "hopes for a better future for the world" are based."
